Ballet West will be traveling to Cuba this fall to perform at Havana’s International Ballet Festival. The Salt Lake City company will be one of the first American ballet groups to perform in Cuba since the United States lifted travel and trade restrictions with the island nation this year.

NEA Chairman Jane Chu Visits Utah

Chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts Jane Chu was in Utah Thursday. Chu started the morning with an address at the Mountain West Arts Conference at the Utah Cultural Celebration Center.

Utah Opera Announces 2015-2016 Season

This week the Utah Opera announced a line-up of blockbuster productions for its 2015-2016 season. 

The Central Utah Art Center in Ephraim is facing an August 20 deadline for eviction by the city. The center is known as “the quack” for C-U-A-C. The center's director Adam Bateman claims city officials are making the move because they believe one current art exhibit may be too risqué for the general public. He says the eviction comes as a total shock.

This is the weekend for the Utah Arts Festival, but there's also a show on Tuesday at the Sandy Amphitheater that's caught Dan Nailen's notice.
