Donate to KUER and Support Crossroads Urban Center

Dec 4, 2014

‘Tis the season of giving, and your donation this holiday season can help support two great organizations when you donate to KUER.  We are partnering with Crossroads Urban Center this year to provide infant supplies to families in need. Infant supplies, including formula, diapers, wipes, and clothing, are some of the most needed donations at the Crossroads Urban Center, so if you would like to support this cause, select the Crossroads Urban Center thank you gift when you make your pledge.

Your donation of:

As the year rushes to a close, join us in celebrating the accomplishments of KUER’s staff and you - our generous listeners. In 2014, you provided new books to Title 1 schools and stocked the shelves at the Utah Food Bank. KUER’s news team brought you stories on the legalization of gay marriage and Utah elections, along with 8 local features broadcast nationally by NPR. Behind the scenes, KUER invested in equipment that enables us to bring you RadioWest from communities far and wide.

Many companies provide their employees with a matching gift program, allowing you to make your donations go further!  Programs vary, but participating companies often offer a dollar-to-dollar match when an employee makes a personal gift to a nonprofit organizations.

Additionally, many companies will match gifts made up to 12 months ago, so if you helped to support KUER during our Fall Fund Drive (or before), you may be able to double your gift instantly!

About the Utah Food Bank:

The Utah Food Bank’s mission is Fighting Hunger Statewide. With more than 110 years of operation, they are one of the oldest charities in Utah and are committed to helping Utahns facing hunger in all 29 counties. The Utah Food Bank has a statewide network of more than 130 partner agencies, consisting of emergency food pantries, regional food banks, and congregate feeding sites such as soup kitchens. They also have a mobile pantry truck that visits 62 pre-established locations monthly where a brick and mortar pantry doesn’t exist in order to reach underserved populations in the state.

The Utah Food Bank has several direct food programs, including Kids Café, which prepares and distributes up to 1800 hot, nutritious meals daily to children who may not get dinner that evening at more than 30 after-school sites, the BackPack Program, which distributes backpacks full of easy-to-open and kid-friendly food each Friday during the school year to help get kids through the weekend, and the Food Box Program, delivering food boxes containing about a week’s worth of food to homebound seniors and people with disabilities.

Through generous donations of food time and money last year, the Utah Food Bank was able to distribute more than 36 million pounds of food, the equivalent of over 28 million meals, to Utahns facing hunger statewide. Support the Utah Food Bank with your donation to KUER.
