Salt Lake City, UT – The vast majority of Americans apply for a social security number without reservation. That little blue card becomes a permanent part of your identity, nine digits that are yours alone. But one Salt Lake man is starting his adult life without a social. And the decision to stand outside the mainstream complicates everything. KUER's Jennifer Napier-Pearce has the story.

The film "Social Obscurity" is part of Spy Hop Productions Pitch-Nic series for young filmmakers. Details on the November 11, 2008 screening are at Spy Hop Productions.
