Larry H. Miller Sports and Entertainment officials announced Monday a name change for the home of the Utah Jazz. Vivint Smart Home Arena marks the third name on the building that the late Larry H. Miller saw constructed 25 years ago. It had been called Energy Solutions Arena and The Delta Center before that. Steven Starks is the president of Larry H. Miller Sports and Entertainment. He says they’ve had a long term relationship with the growing tech company.
“It’s a great partnership from our perspective they have some expertise that we want to draw upon to come into the arena and let’s look for ways to improve, let’s improve the fan experience in all aspects,” says Starks.
Vivint is a Utah County-based technology company that markets home automation and security systems mainly in the US and Canada. Jeff Lyman is the chief marketing officer for Vivint. He says this 10-year deal is a great fit for both companies.
“Both have a tremendously bright future. I think if you look at that the team the Jazz are fielding this year, it’s right at the sort of foundational beginning point of something that’s really, really special,” Lyman says.
A statement from the Utah Jazz office says Energy Solutions will continue as a champion partner which includes various arena marketing and sponsorship of the Junior Jazz youth basketball program.
