Salt Lake City, UT – Associate Professor Wayne Springer is among the students and faculty members celebrating the completion of the Willard L. Eccles Observatory. It's near 96-hundred feet at the top of Frisco Peak, one of the darkest places in the Mountain West. The First Light observance is planned for Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. in Room 103 of the James Fletcher building on the University of Utah campus.

You can see photographs taken by the 32-inch telescope online at the Physics & Astronomy Department website.
