Mexican President Gets Warm Reception in Utah

By Jenny

Salt Lake City, UT – Mexican President Vicente Fox wrapped up his 24 hour visit to Utah on Wednesday, reassuring state lawmakers that Mexico is working hard to improve its economy and expand trade ties with the U.S. State lawmakers said yesterday that they expect Fox's visit will lead to increased trade and business opportunities between Utah and Mexico. But simmering beneath the surface of the trip was the contentious topic of illegal immigration. Utah has an estimated 95,000 undocumented immigrants, and the state's lawmakers were eager to hear Fox's comments on that topic. KUER's Jenny Brundin reports.
