Legislature Addresses Peyote Use, Human Services Spending, Kindergarten

Salt Lake City, UT – A Senate Committee wrote the latest chapter in the ongoing battle to define who's legally allowed to use and possess peyote in Utah. A joint appropriations subcommittee decided that making up cuts in federal spending was its top priority for spending the new money available in this year's state budget for social services. And a bill to expand all-day kindergarten programs advanced on a razor-thin committee vote. KUER's Dan Bammes and Laura Weiss report.
