KUER Welcomes New Morning Edition Host, Diane Maggipinto

Veteran radio news host, Diane Maggipinto, has accepted the position as Morning Edition Host at KUER 90.1. Maggipinto will replace Dan Bammes, who left the station after 12 years for the Communication Director position at the Utah Foundation.

“After a national search for a local Morning Edition anchor that could seamlessly replace Dan Bammes, we realized our most talented candidate was right here in Salt Lake. I am thrilled to welcome Diane Maggipinto as a permanent member of the KUER news staff,” said KUER News Director, Terry Gildea.

Maggipinto brings more than a decade of radio production and hosting experience to KUER. She served as a morning and afternoon anchor at KCPW until 2006. Maggipinto has also lent her voice to several KUED Television productions, narrating The Alta Experience among other documentaries.

When asked about her new position, Maggipinto said, “I am humbled and honored to be a part of KUER. I've been an ardent listener, fan, and public radio member since I graduated college, settled in Vermont and pledged to Vermont Public Radio. While the world of instant news and rapid digestion of information in small bites can lead to stomach upset, KUER and NPR are the daily vitamins for in-depth, interesting stateside and global coverage of issues that matter to me and to many of us.”

KUER is thrilled to bring Maggipinto on board. As a previous fill-in host, Maggipinto has proven herself as an experienced and talented voice for the station. She began anchoring mornings after Bammes left and will continue to do so, every morning from 5:00 am to 9:00 am.

“Diane is an incredibly talented anchor. Her inviting voice is a welcome addition to our morning lineup.” – Terry Gildea
