Friday, February 10: Arvol Looking Horse

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, UT – Arvol Looking Horse is the White Buffalo Calf Pipe Bundle Keeper and a spiritual leader of the Lakota-Dakota-Nakota Nation. Understanding the sacred rites of indigenous peoples has given Mr. Looking Horse a unique perspective on global issues -- issues of peace, the environment and human rights. He is in Salt Lake City this week, and joins Doug Fabrizio in studio, along with Forrest Cuch, Director of Utah's Division of Indian Affairs.

Friday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m., Arvol Looking Horse will join other community leaders and the public in discussion and dialogue. The evening will also include musical entertainment. The event will take place at the Indian Walk-In Center, 120 West 1300 South in Salt Lake City. For more information, call the Center at 486-4877.

Saturday, February 11th at 1:00 p.m., Arvol Looking Horse will participate in the Indian Education Story Telling Festival at the Brigham Young University Wilkinson Center Room 3290. He will be joined by story tellers from the Ute, Goshute, Paiute, Navajo and Shoshone tribes. For more information, visit the Nebo School District on-line or call Eileen at 801-361-9030.
