Washington, DC – And now from Washington--a story of great leaders war and peace ..and ..furniture? Just 100 small mahogany desks make up lawmakers' official seats in the United States Senate chamber. Close to 18 hundred senators have spoken from those 100 desks to debate declarations of war, slavery and civil rights, and presidential impeachment trials. Some occupants are icons of American culture .a few are infamous and most well are unknown. The desks accommodated them all and they have the scars to prove it. But before you think it's just furniture, reporter Todd Zwillich recently discovered Utah's senators sit at desks with a few stories to tell.
