Salt Lake City, UT – Today's teenagers in Salt Lake County may find themselves with a larger burden in the coming years than young people in other parts of Utah. Salt Lake County's population of elderly people is growing rapidly, but it also has a high proportion of children. Those trends are the subject of a new study by the Bureau of Economic and Business Research at the University of Utah. Pam Perlich is a senior research economist with the Bureau of Economic and Business Research at the University of Utah. The study was commissioned by Salt Lake County Aging Services. She spoke to KUER's Dan Bammes.
