Salt Lake City, UT – On Tuesday, January 5th at the Utah State Capitol, a long list of interested parties are signing an agreement to protect Nine Mile Canyon. They include the Bureau of Land Management, environmental, archaeological and Native American groups and a company developing hundreds of natural gas wells on the West Tavaputs Plateau.
Pam Miller teaches anthropology at the College of Eastern Utah and she's president of the Nine Mile Canyon Coalition, a community group that's been trying to protect Nine Mile Canyon and its rock art treasures since 1991. She spoke to KUER's Dan Bammes.
