Addressing the Challenge of Teen Suicide

By Tasha Cook

Salt Lake City, UT – Suicide among Utah's teenagers has become a public health crisis. The Suicide Prevention Resource Center says an average of six suicides occur in a given week in Utah. But mental health advocates and medical researchers are mobilizing in the hope of reaching troubled youth before it's too late. In the second part our series, KUER's Tasha Cook continues a profile of Brannigan Hazleton and her efforts to seek help when she was a teenager. Tasha also looks at ways the state is reaching out to Utah youth who contemplate ending their lives.
