Salt Lake City, Utah – Along the highways and in communities throughout America - independent diners beckon travelers not just with time-tested recipes - but with character. Michael Stern's mission is to chronicle the most memorable eateries. Stern and his wife Jane are the authors of more than 40 books - including the good-eats guide "Roadfood." Tuesday on RadioWest, Michael Stern joins us to talk about what makes the best restaurants and to share his own Utah favorites.

On Saturday, October 3, Jane and Michael Stern will be in Utah as part of the Dewey Lecture Series at the Salt Lake City Public Library. The lecture begins at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Library auditorium. Free tickets are available at all City Library locations one week prior to the lecture.
