What does it mean when galleries sell out of an artists' work before an exhibit even opens? In the case of Utah artist Brian Kershisnik, it speaks to a unique ability to portray the abstract qualities of life on the canvas. The Curator of Exhibitions at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts calls Kershisnik's work bitter, sweet, awkward and graceful - words that might best sum up the moments of human experience. Kershisnik's exhibit closes this weekend at the UMFA, and Thursday, Doug talks to the painter about his work and about what Kershisnik himself calls his "foolish ambition."
- Brian Kershisnik's exhibit Painting from Life will be on display through this Saturday, July 7th at the Utah Museum of Fine Arts. For more information, call the museum at 801-581-7332 or click here
