Salt Lake City, UT – Tuesday on RadioWest we continue our series of programs with poetry at the center of the discussion. We're focusing on poetry and politics. It's not really an odd mix when you think about it. Amazing poems have often been inspired by repression, injustice or revolution. We'll hear some political poems, and talk about a form that reacts to the way things are and is fueled by that powerful inclination to change the world.

Utah's annual writer's conference Writers@Work is going on this week at Spiro Artists in Residence at the Silver Star Resort in Park City. Tonight - the poet Tom Sleigh will give a reading with fiction writer Eileen Pollack. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. For more information, click here

On Thursday, June 25th at 4:00 p.m., Joel Long will perform his work on the Big Mouth Stage at the Utah Arts Festival. The festival runs June 25th through the 28th on Library Square in Downtown Salt Lake City. For more information, click here
