Salt Lake City, UT – In his book "Blood and Thunder," Hampton Sides records the birth of the American West in all its vividness and brutality. It's a tale with many heroes and many villains, and at the center of it all is Kit Carson - the legendary trapper, scout and soldier. Hampton Sides will be in Park City next week, and Tuesday he joins Doug to talk about Manifest Destiny, the fate of the Navajo and the complicated history of the region.
