KUER's fund drive starts soon, and we're looking for individuals and groups to help out! We need dozens of volunteers to help answer phones and take pledges. You'll be able to get a behind-the-scenes look at KUER, meet your favorite radio hosts, and eat some delicious food. Shifts are 2-3 hours in length and vary throughout the day. Our fall fund drive lasts from September 26th - October 3rd. Sign up for your volunteer shift here!

The Salt Lake City Mayor’s office has for 13 years hosted a Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service in partnership with the Utah Food Bank. Today more than 100 volunteers lent their time and energy to the cause.

Ginette Bott with the Utah Food Bank addressed volunteers early Monday morning about the value of their service. Bott says last year volunteers donated 103,000 hours of time to the organization.

Utah ranks first in the nation for volunteering according to a new report released today. It’s the eighth straight year the state has received the honor.

The report published by the organization Volunteering and Civic Life in America notes that more than 900,000 people in Utah volunteered this year. Some were donating their time on Monday in a large warehouse in Salt Lake City for Candy Cane Corner. It’s an annual program that provides new donated clothing and toys for families in need each Christmas. Volunteers, like Shelley North of West Jordan were excited to help.
