Salt Lake City, UT – As Utah lawmakers look at a billion dollar state surplus, decisions must be made about how the windfall should be spent. While some at Utah's Capitol Hill caution discipline, others see an opportunity to reduce taxes or to fund projects like transportation. A recent Salt Lake Tribune-KUED-KUER poll found that 61% of Utahns want to improve public schools. Doug Fabrizio talks to lawmakers and analysts about spending priorities and fiscal choices in a year of plenty.
