Salt Lake City, UT – The Utah Symphony and Opera has been running up substantial deficits since the two organizations merged in 2002. A confidential consultant's report has also identified a number of problems with the way US&O has been run in recent years. Add to that the lack of a contract with union musicians and the situation was ready for some serious attention from the organization's board members. KUER's Dan Bammes reports.
