In the final 50 days of the election season, the group plans to talk to family and friends about Clinton’s values and policies. Crystal Young-Otterstrom is the Chair of LDS Democrats in Utah.
“So we’re really trying to help people following us on social media or listening to our message in the press or voters that we work on through canvassing and other efforts," says Young-Otterstrom, "to really see her as the fantastically qualified human being she is, as well as communicating the issues that she stands for.
Young-Otterstrom says they’re finding many Mormons who feel they’ve lost their political voice.
“And so we are fortunate this election cycle with Donald Trump at the top of the ticket it’s really helping more Mormon voters to see that what they think are Republican ideals are not really Republican ideals.”
Young-Otterstrom says they are trying to avoid pointing to Hillary Clinton’s opponent by promoting Clinton’s high respect for religious freedom, healthcare reform and strengthening education opportunities in America.
