Salt Lake City, UT – A battle is brewing between Utah Governor Jon Huntsman and Republican lawmakers over a proposal that weakens the governor's leverage in passing certain budget priorities. The bill's sponsor argues that it's simply a stop-gap measure intended to keep government running should lawmakers fail to agree on a budget by the last day of the legislative session. Lawmakers also advanced a message to Congress on federal education policy. KUER's Jenny Brundin reports.
