Salt Lake City, UT – Out of decades of darkness and terror, Salt Lake mixed media artist Trent Alvey found hope and joy in the children of northern Uganda. Alvey did a two week art project with the kids at the Asayos Wish Foundation orphanage. It will be on display through May 14 at Salt Lake's 15th Street Gallery, with an opening fundraiser this Friday night.KUER's Jenny Brundin spoke with Trent Alvey about an essay she wrote on the optimism and joy she found at the orphanage, which is located at the epicenter of the Lords' Resistance Army, where more than 60,000 children were kidnapped and enslaved.
