U of U Scientist Awaits Satellite Launch

By Dan Bammes

Salt Lake City, UT – NASA calls it the "A Train." It's a group of specialized satellites orbiting the earth in formation. Two of them, Cloudsat and Calipso, will be launched Friday, April 21st, from Vandenburg Air Force Base in California. University of Utah Associate Professor Jay Mace will be there for the launch. He's part of the team that created the project. As data comes back from space, he'll also be part of the team analyzing the information it will provide about Earth's climate. Mace spoke with KUER's Dan Bammes.
