Salt Lake City, UT – "Her Majesty" is a family film that delivers a parable on race relations, colonialism and identity. As a New Zealand town prepares for a visit by Queen Elizabeth, they come in conflict with an old Maori woman whose home is an "embarrassment" on the parade route. The young heroine Elizabeth must choose between her loyalty to her friend and her dream of meeting the Queen. RadioWest talks to writer and director Mark Gordon, and locally based cinematographer Steven Katz.
The Salt Lake City Film Center will present an advanced screening of "Her Majesty." Tuesday, February 15th, 6:30pm. Megaplex 12 at the Gateway, 165 S Rio Grande St, SLC.
