Toward Quantum Computing

By Dan Bammes

Salt Lake City – Imagine a computer that is millions of times smaller and billions of times faster than today's machines. Instead of tiny transistors, a quantum computer would use atoms and subatomic particles to manipulate data. A University of Utah researcher Christoph Boehme, has developed a technique that represents another step toward quantum computing, although he says that could still be a long way off. KUER's Dan Bammes reports.
