Thursday, October 6: The Graphic Novel

Salt Lake City, UT – Over 25 years ago, the Graphic Novel took the art of cartooning from the realm of children into adult fiction. Cartoonist Batton Lash and editor Jackie Estrada will be in Utah as part of the Great Salt Lake Book Festival, and join Doug Fabrizio to talk about the genre. Later in the program, Doug talks to Alex Caldiero and others on the 50th Anniversary of poet Allen Ginsberg's "Howl."

  • The Great Salt Lake Book Festival and Ken Sanders Rare Books celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Allen Ginsberg's "Howl" Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. This re-enactment of the original reading at the Six Gallery in San Francisco will take place in the main auditorium of the Salt Lake City Public Library.
