Salt Lake City, UT – Novelist Leslie Forbes and artist Rachel Berwick talk about restoring the past through their art forms. They are in town, along with paleontoligst Michael Novacek, for the University of Utah's Science and Literature Symposium entitled "Some Assembly Required: Restoration and Human Production in Images, Words and Bones."

  • Leslie Forbes, Rachel Berwick and Michael Novacek will join host Ira Flatow for a discussion on restoration as part of NPR's Science Friday, March 25th. The show will be broadcast live from Salt Lake City. For more information, visit Science Friday
  • An opening reception for Rachel Berwick's exhibit "A Vanishing" will be held at the Salt Lake Art Center, 20 S West Temple, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 24th.
  • Leslie Forbes will deliver a key-note address entitled "Invisible Idiots: How collisions with the nucleus of another discipline (science, art, literature, or pizza-making) may help to produce newly charged questions about restoration." The lecture is Thursday, March 24th from 7:00 to 8:15 p.m. at the Marriott Library on the University of Utah Campus.
