By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, UT – In 1945, the sacred text of one of the world's earliest Christian sects was uncovered in Upper Egypt. The discovery of the Gnostic Gospels -- including the Gospel of Thomas -- has fascinated scholars and ignited imaginations since. Preeminent theologian Elaine Pagels is in Salt Lake City, and joins Doug Fabrizio to talk about how Christianity may have been different had these teachings of Jesus been a part of church canon from the earliest days.

  • Elaine Pagels will speak at Westminster College on Thursday, March 23rd at 7:00 p.m. in the Vieve Gore Concert Hall of the Eccles Jones Conservatory. Pagels lecture will address, Who was Jesus? How the Discovery of Secret Gospels is Changing What We Know. For more information, visit Westminster College on-line or call 832-2411.
