By Doug Fabrizio
Salt Lake City, UT – Afficianados began collecting Leia Bell's art by swiping concert posters she made for Salt Lake City's Kilby Court rock venue. Her work has since been used by bands like Weezer and Echo and the Bunnymen, and she is increasingly being recognized both within the industry and by the public. An exhibit of her paintings and monoprints is on display at Ken Sanders Rare Books as part of this weekend's Gallery Stroll. Doug Fabrizio talks to Bell, along with Ken Sanders and Paul Grushkin, editor of The Art of Modern Rock, about her art and the genre that gives it form.
