Salt Lake City, UT – According to the Utah Commission on Criminal and Juvenile Justice, one in three Utah women will experience some form of sexual violence during their lives and one in 8 will be raped. The vast majority are assaulted before their 18th birthday. These are crimes that few talk about, but now two women - sisters who were both sexually abused as children - are inviting Utahns to record their stories of sexual violence.

KUER's Jennifer Napier-Pearce produced this story.

The audio exhibit "Voices: Stories from Survivors of Sexual Violence" is sponsored by the Rape Recovery Center and TruthBeTold Productions. An opening reception will be held this Friday, October 22 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Sorensen Unity Center in Salt Lake City.
