Salt Lake City, UT – Tomorrow afternoon, TV stations all across America will switch off their analog V-H-F signals... ending an era in broadcasting. Salt Lake was among the first cities in America to have broadcast television. An experimental station went on the air here in 1948. Craig Wirth is a TV journalist who now teaches broadcasting at the University of Utah. He has studied those early days, and says a flamboyant entrepreneur named Sid Fox got it started. KUER's Dan Bammes produced this tribute to analog.
