Sigurd, UT –
Sigurd, Utah, a town of about 480 residents on the way to Capitol Reef National Park, is about to close a chapter on a seven-and-a-half year long debate.
Should Sevier Power be allowed to build a coal-fired power plant three-quarters of a mile from 183 homes? Tomorrow, a district court judge in Richfield will hear arguments on whether a proposal to allow a vote on the issue will be placed on the November ballot.
Anne Milliken went to Sigurd to hear what residents think of the power plant proposal and filed this report.
