Public Participation Invited in Utility Case
By Dan Bammes
Salt Lake City, UT –
Utility regulation is a complex subject, but technology is giving more Utahns a front row seat. The Utah Public Service Commission plans a procedural conference at 9:30 tomorrow morning to consider the task of investigating the big gas bills sent to about 500 residential customers. Roger Ball with the Utah Ratepayers Association says the issue is who should be responsible for malfunctioning data transponders.
A spokesperson for Questar Gas takes issue with Ball's assertion that the company doesn't do its business in open forums, arguing the rural gas subsidy issue had multiple hearings and went to the Utah Supreme Court.
