November 1: Homeless at the End Film Screening

Join us at the Salt Lake City Public Library, November 1st at 7pm, for a free screening of KUED's Homeless at the End; followed by a panel discussion moderated by KUER's Whittney Evans.

Shot in a raw and intimate style, "Homeless at the End" tells the story of the final months and days of homeless residents in a unique hospice setting, providing a poignant account of the experience of those in our community who are medically frail, and who have often been forsaken. It also highlights the essential relationships between homeless residents, medical personnel, staff, and volunteers of The INN Between.

The event is FREE, but seating is limited. Please RSVP to ldurham@kued.org by Oct. 29 to reserve your seat.

The film offers a rare glimpse into the lives of formerly homeless people as they struggle to come to terms with the end of their lives, and shows the need for a greater understanding and compassion for Utah’s terminally ill homeless population as they face the end of life.

The one hour film will be followed by a panel discussion led by KUER's Whittney Evans.

Panelists:
Salt Lake County Mayor Ben McAdams
Lois Collins, Journalist at The Deseret News
KUED Filmmaker Sally Shaum
Kim Correa, The INN Between Executive Director
Matilda Lindgren, The INN Between Program Director
Ben Jones, client at The INN Between

This free screening is in partnership with The INN Between, the Salt Lake City Public Library, KUED, and Catholic Community Services of Utah.
