Salt Lake CIty, UT – Tuesday, April 24th, is Skin Cancer Awareness Day in Utah. Growing concern about the dangers of sun exposure to young people has prompted 27 states to restrict teenagers' access to tanning salons. Some states ban indoor tanning for 13 to 16 year olds; others require a doctor's note to tan. Utah is the latest state to crack down, requiring parents permission to tan for teens under 18. The new law goes into effect next Monday. KUER's Jenny Brundin reports on the growing trend of artificial tanning among teens.
