GOED Launches New Website with Expanded Features and New Design

File: Governor's Office of Economic Development

The Governor’s Office of Economic Development, or GOED put its newly redesigned website on line today Monday. Michael Sullivan is the communications director for GOED. He says the new Business.Utah.Gov answers a request by businesses and the legislature for more transparency in the operation of the office.

“Providing our residents and businesses a clearer understanding of what it is that we do and of the actions that we’ve taken when we utilize, for example, taxpayer dollars in tax credits etc. in recruiting other businesses,” says Sullivan.

He says records for companies who have received post-performance tax incentives going back to 2008 are now accessible on the site. He says expansion and redesign also adds valuable content for business owners.

“Our primary focus is on helping our existing business community," Sullivan says, "but also making us very accessible to businesses worldwide who may want to look at Utah for foreign direct investment, for expansion-relocation.”

Sullivan says GOED has also expanded social media outlets with the new site. He says a stronger presence on Facebook, Google Plus, LinkedIn and Twitter allows users to weigh in on exciting things happening at the office.
