Willie Nelson performs at USANA Amphitheatre on Saturday, June 20.

In The Sunken Cathedral(Scribner), the latest novel from Kate Walbert, two World War 2 survivors take a painting class together. Reviewer Betsy Burton says the book gets at “the ways our interior lives assimilate and hold, at least in memory, our hurts, our hopes, our satisfactions, our terrors, our loves. Pure Walbert, purely stunning—as always.”

This week, Austen Diamond evangelizes the music scene outside of Salt Lake City. Make the pilgrimage to Provo on Monday, June 15, to catch Surfer Blood at Velour.

Ogden’s own Twilight Concert Series (not to be confused with the similarly named series in Salt Lake) is well under way.  Head north up I-15 to catch Other Lives on June 18.

Then you’ve got a hard choice to make on June 20—whether to see Willie Nelson and Alison Krauss at USANA Amphitheatre in West Valley or John Butler Trio at Park City Live. There’s no wrong choice.
