Utah Senator Mike Lee kicked off his reelection campaign on Saturday with the help of several high profile Republicans.
“Mike Lee is a fearless fighter. You must return him to the U.S. Senate,” proclaimed former Republican presidential hopeful Carly Fiorina.
“This man’s dream of getting us back on course, is worth its weight in gold,” added talk show host Glenn Beck.
“And I’ll tell you, when I think of Mike I think of three words: Principle, courage and accountability,” declared Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
The three speakers all had high praise for Utah’s junior senator at his campaign kickoff even in Draper on Saturday. They pointed to him as key to helping America maintain the values of the Constitution.
Lee spoke last at the event, and while he mostly stumped for Presidential hopeful Ted Cruz, he did compare his efforts during his first term in office to David fighting Goliath.
“Just like David didn’t have to be as big as Goliath was. We don’t have to have everyone in America," Lee said. "We don’t always, necessarily, have a majority of all people, we just have to have enough. We just have to have a critical mass and when we have that critical mass and we stand behind principle, we can win, we will win, and we must win.”
Lee has already gathered enough signatures to be put on the Republican primary ballot, but that might not matter. Lee is popular among Utah delegates and only has one relatively unknown Republican challenger.
