A stone in Oakland, California commemorates the unclaimed victims of the 1978 Jonestown Massacre.

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, UT – On November 18, 1978, over 900 members of the Peoples Temple died in a mass suicide/murder. Jim Jones had led his followers across the US and eventually to Guyana. The goal was to build a society based on racial equality and justice. Stanley Nelson's new film Jonestown uses archival footage, recently declassified FBI files and interviews with survivors and family members to examine the fear and manipulation that bound the community. Doug Fabrizio talks to Nelson, along with survivor Hue Fortson and family member Rebecca Moore, about the life and death of the Peoples Temple. (Repeat)
