6/22/06: Sandra Tsing Loh

Sandra Tsing Loh
Sandra Tsing Loh

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, UT – When Sandra Tsing Loh was fired for an on-air obscenity from the public radio station KCRW in Los Angeles, the comparisons to Howard Stern carried some heavy irony. After all, she had just completed a five-part series on knitting. But this writer/humorist/musician was not deterred from taking her wide range of topics to a wide variety of venues. She is a commentator for Marketplace, has contributed to This American Life, performs her own one-woman shows, and has played piano on a flatbed truck during rush hour on LA's Harbor Freeway. She'll even perform at the Utah Arts Festival this weekend, and joins Doug for a conversation about her music and her musings.

Sandra Tsing Loh and the Starlight Orchestra will perform Sunday, June 25th at 6:30 p.m. at the Utah Arts Festival. The Festival runs Thursday, June 22 through Sunday, June 25th. For schedules and information, visit them on-line
