Lily Havey's \"Only My Freedom\" is one in a series of watercolors depicting her experience living in the Amache Internment Camp in Amache, Colorado.

Lily Havey came of age in a Japanese-American internment camp, comforting her mother, defying her teachers, and forming her own opinions about freedom and what it means to be Japanese-American. As a mature artist, she's putting those troubled memories on paper through prose and watercolor. On Friday, Havey joins guest host Jennifer Napier-Pearce to talk about her experiences and the healing power of art.

This Saturday, June 12, Lily Havey will be exhibiting a selection of her work as part of the 2010 Utah Asian Festival. The event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the South Towne Expo Center in Sandy. For more information, click here
