5/5/10: The History and Future of Coal
By Doug Fabrizio
Salt Lake City, Utah – Roman invaders discovered what they called "the best stone in Britain." They carved jewelry from it and eventually learned it could be used as a heating source. Since then, coal has helped shape the course of the world - from the industrial revolution to today's electric grid. Wednesday, we're joined by Barbara Freese. She's the author of "Coal: A Human History." We'll talk about the history of the mineral and about the economics of its future. (Rebroadcast)
