3/27/08: For God and Country

Former US Army Captain James Yee
Former US Army Captain James Yee

By Jennifer Napier-Pearce

Salt Lake City, UT – Former US Army Captain James Yee was a chaplain at Guantanamo Bay Naval Base ministering to detainees. Then in 2003, Yee was abruptly arrested, charged with espionage and thrown into solitary confinement. All criminals were eventually dropped. Yee is in Salt Lake City, and joins Jennifer Napier-Pearce to reflect on what justice, faith and patriotism mean in a post-9/11 world.

  • This afternoon at 2:00, James Yee will speak at the Hinckley Institute of Politics at the University of Utah. A panel discussion on Civil and Human Rights Issues will follow. For more information, visit the Asian American Student Association at the University of Utah. You can also call 801-581-8501.
