Salt Lake City – Anna Baltzer is a Jewish American woman, the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor. When she first visited Israel, it was part of the Birthright Israel program. While teaching and traveling as a Fulbright Scholar in the Middle East though, she heard a different version of the region's history. So she went to the West Bank, and experienced first-hand daily life as it is for Palestinians. Baltzer will be in Salt Lake City this Sunday and joins Doug to talk about her book Witness in Palestine: Journal of a Jewish American Woman in the Occupied Territories.
- Sunday, December 10th is International Human Rights Day. Anna Baltzer will speak at 2:30 p.m. at the Salt Lake City public library. Her lecture will be preceeded by the 1:30 screening of the documentary "The Iron Wall." The event is sponsored by Utahns for a Just Peace in the Holy Land, and you can learn more by visiting them on-line.
