11/7/08: Exposed

By Doug Fabrizio

Salt Lake City, UT – It wasn't until 1992 that the US government stopped detonating nuclear bombs at its test site in the Nevada desert - making a total of nearly a thousand explosions. For years now, writer Mary Dickson has been covering the story of those who found themselves downwind of these tests. At first she was drawn to the issue as a journalist, but then the story became personal. Her play Exposed explores the human consequences of American's nuclear race. We're rebroadcasting our conversation with Mary about what it really means to be a downwinder. (Rebroadcast)
