Salt Lake City, Utah – For many, George Washington is a mythic figure: a hero of the revolution and the face on our dollar bill more than a man of flesh and bone. The biographer Ron Chernow explains that Washington worked hard to conceal his inner-life. "With me," said Washington, "it has always been a maxim rather to let my designs appear from my works than by my expressions." In his new book, Chernow has created a vivid portrait of America's first president and he joins Doug to talk about who Washington was.
