11/1/10: Wartorn

Salt Lake City, Utah – During the Civil War, doctors called it melancholia or insanity. In the World Wars it came to be known as shell-shock and later combat fatigue. But by any other name, post-traumatic stress disorder has been an invisible plague on soldiers as long as wars have been waged. Monday, Doug is joined by the creators of a new HBO documentary called Wartorn. They'll talk about the history PTSD from the Civil War to today and about what it means for soldiers and their families.

  • This Wednesday, November 3 at 7:00 p.m., the Salt Lake City Film Center will present a screening of Wartorn at the Salt Lake City Library. For detailed information, click here
  • Wartorn premieres on HBO November 11. Visit HBO on-line for details and for links to resources.
